The magnificent weaver bird Baaya has long represented the artisanal hopes and dreams in India. Perhaps, outside of the spotlight. Until Baaya began, ten years ago.

Founded by Shibani Jain in 2009, Baaya’s first location in Lower Parel was inspired by a gamut of influences, both Indian and global. The chief inspiration, however, remained the many artisans around India.
